IMPORTANT

Gamification is not enabled by default. To enable Gamification, contact your Client Account Manager.

Gamification Module (Scavenger Hunt)

Gamification (Scavenger Hunt) is an interactive feature designed to engage event attendees through a competition of scanning exhibitor QR codes. The goal is to scan as many exhibitor QR codes as possible and compete for the top position on the leaderboard.

The module can be enabled for any event and allows administrators to:

  • Set the start and end time of the challenge.
  • Select participating exhibitors.
  • Define event rules.
  • Export unique QR codes and leaderboard results.

Setting up Gamification in the Admin Panel

In the Admin panel, admins can enable gamification and manage rules, participants, results, and notifications.

📘

NOTE

Gamification must be enabled for the desired event to appear in-app. Contact your Client Account Manager to enable it for specific events after configuring the module.

Configuring Gamification

To configure gamification for an event:

  1. Go to Events > Events in the admin panel.
  2. Look for the desired event.

TIP

Use the search or advanced search functions to find the desired event.

  1. Click the View button on the desired event.
  2. Go to Gamification > Gamification Configure.
  3. Set the start and end date and time for the contest.
  4. Enter the contest rules in the Gamification Rules content box.
📘

NOTE

To prevent cheating, mention in the rules that QR codes must be scanned in person at the event.

  1. Continue to Exhibitors > Add Exhibitors.
  2. Select exhibitors to include in the gamification.
📘

NOTE

You can only include exhibitors who have already been added to the event. For more information, see Exhibitor Booth.

  1. Click Save.

Exporting Gamification QR Codes

The Export to CSV + QR button allows you to download a list of the selected exhibitors along with their unique QR codes.

📘

NOTE

  • These QR codes are unique to the Gamification module, as they contain a special deep link.

  • Each QR code is generated for a specific event and cannot be reused in other events.

  • The image files are named according to the exhibitor names.

Managing participants and results

As soon as a user scans an exhibitor QR code, a leaderboard appears in the Gamification section of the event's details page. In this section, the admin can:

  • View and export the participant list with scan counts (via the Export to CSV option).
  • Hide (Ban) a participant — the user still has access to the module but is hidden from the leaderboard.
📘

NOTE

You can not reverse this action.

Creating push notifications for Gamification

Admins can create push notifications that take users to the Gamification page once clicked. This can be configured to inform users about scavenger hunts, drive engagement around the event, or support other gamification-related communication.

To create a push notification for Gamifications:

  1. Go to Push Notifications in the Admin panel.
  2. Click Create Push Notification.
  3. Set a Push Title. This will be the notification title in the app.
  4. Edit the Push Text section with the information you want to share with users.
  5. Set the following:
    1. Date & Time: Specifies when the push text is sent to users.
    2. Timezone (optional): Choose a preferred timezone.
    3. Target Type: Defines the target audience.
