Vimeo video settings for app compatibility
Vimeo videos can be embedded in posts through the Admin Panel. This guide outlines:
- The necessary video settings on the Vimeo platform to ensure proper playback in our application.
- The limitations to consider when uploading and configuring videos in Vimeo.
Supported video access types
The following Vimeo video types are supported:

Public Videos:
- Accessible to all Vimeo users.
- The video link can be used without any additional authorization.

Hide from Vimeo:
- Videos are hidden from Vimeo's search and are only accessible via a direct link.
- Restrictions by groups or private access settings are not allowed.
Configuration requirements
To ensure Vimeo videos play correctly in the app, adjust the following settings accordingly:
- Access Type: Set the video access type to either Public or Hide from Vimeo.
- Group Restrictions: Do not apply group restrictions or other access limitations.
- Folders: If videos are organized into folders, ensure the folders are publicly accessible (not private).
Unsupported Vimeo video access types
The following settings are not supported:
- Private videos.
- Password-protected videos.
- Unlisted videos (Only people with the link can view).
Adding videos to the app
To add videos to the application, follow these steps:
- Upload the video to Vimeo.
- Ensure the access settings are correctly configured (Public or Hide from Vimeo).
- Copy the video link. Use the Share button and confirm that a supported privacy type is selected.
- Create a video post in the application and paste the copied link.

Privacy settings recommendations for all newly uploaded videos
To prevent in-app errors when uploading videos to Vimeo, configure default privacy settings for all new videos. This eliminates the need to adjust settings for each video manually.
Configuring default settings
- Go to the Settings section of the Vimeo account.
- Go to Videos > Upload Defaults.
- Configure the settings in the Privacy section as recommended.
- Save the changes.

Set the following defaults:
- Who can watch the videos?
- Select Hide from Vimeo or Public.
- This ensures compatibility with the application.
- Where can this be embedded?
- Set to Anywhere to allow embedding on external platforms, including the application.
- Who can comment?
- Choose No one or restrict comments to only the video owner to avoid unwanted interactions.
- Who can download this video?
- Set to No one to disable video downloads.
- Password:
- Ensure the password option is disabled. Videos should not be password-protected.
