Authorization levels: Customers (../CS)

The functionality available to a user is based on the user’s Customers authorization level, user class, and licensing. Casual users have extended capabilities in Customers, so the highest authority level they can have here is 4.

📘

Note

The Specific Types field in the Staff Access area of the Users window affects what can be seen and done in the Customers feature, by limiting which customer types the user can edit.

What each user type can do

  • Full and Casual users with auth level 1 can find and view contact records
📘

Note

Level 1 users select Manage customers to find and view those records.

  • Full and Casual users with auth level 1 can manage committees and chapter rosters
  • Full and Casual users with auth level 2 can run reports
  • Full and Casual users with auth level 3 can create and edit contact records
  • Full and Casual users with auth level 4 can delete contact records
📘

Note

To disable contact record deletion, go to Set up module > General, Basic Options.

  • Full and Casual users with auth level 4 can find and print duplicate records
  • Full and Casual users with auth level 4 can import activities (requires keyword)
  • Full users with auth level 8 can merge duplicate records
