Out of Production

If a product's status is Out of Production, and you enter a Qty that is greater than the product quantity available in inventory, iMIS does the following:

  • Resets the Qty field to equal the product's total quantity available in inventory.
  • Verifies whether Upsell or Replacement items are available for the product:

No Upsell or Replacement items are available - iMIS displays a message at the bottom of the Overview tab, “Only x remaining and no Replacement Product is available.”

Upsell or Replacement items are available - iMIS opens the Opportunities window listing all available Upsell and Replacement opportunities (the Add and Replace buttons enable), and a message displays at the bottom of the Opportunities window, “Insufficient inventory. Replace the item, or click Add to replace the unavailable x units.”

If you click Add, iMIS does the following:

  • Adds a new line item for the Upsell, Cross-sell, or Replacement item with the Qty equal to the difference between the original quantity ordered and the quantity available in inventory.
  • Refreshes the Opportunities window (the added item is removed from the window).
  • Refreshes each line item's Opportunities indicator.

If you click Replace, iMIS does the following:

  • Updates the original product's line item data with the Upsell or Replacement item's data.
  • Resets the Qty ordered to equal the quantity originally ordered.
  • Recalculates the order's discounts, taxes, and prices to reflect the Upsell or Replacement item's data.
  • Refreshes the Opportunities window with the Upsell or Replacement item's existing opportunities.
  • Refreshes each line item's Opportunities indicator.
