Advanced Options for Learning Activities

The Advanced Options tab for Learning Activities provides several configuration settings to enhance the learning experience.

Credits

Specify the number of credits associated with this activity. If the Active checkbox for a credit type is enabled, that number of credits will be awarded to the student upon completing the activity. To assign a sub-type, select the desired option from the None Active drop-down, then enable the appropriate checkbox and click Save. To deactivate a credit or sub-type, simply deselect the checkbox and click Save.

Equivalent Activities

Add learning activities that can be considered equivalent for achieving objectives in Certification Paths. For example, an online course may be treated as equivalent to an ILT for completing a learning goal. Click Add to select activities that satisfy the completion requirements for this activity.

Prerequisites

If students must complete another class, activity, or goal before enrolling in this activity, click Add to select the required prerequisites. When a student attempts to enroll through the catalog, they will be notified if they have not yet completed the prerequisites. To remove a prerequisite, select the checkbox next to it and click Remove.

Pre/Post Work

Pre-work and post-work are sets of questions associated with the activity. Pre-work must be completed before a student can start the activity, while Post-work must be completed after finishing the activity. The activity will only appear in the student's training history once the post-work is completed.

Assignments

Assign the Learning Activity to groups of users or to individual users. This will cause the activity to appear on the Learning Plan of the user.

Policy Rules

Setup all the policy rules for the Learning Activity. This includes Roll up rules and Actions which will fire when the Activity is completed by the learner.

Wishlist

Review and process the list of users who have expressed interest in the Learning Activity. From this screen you can choose to enroll the user in the activity.

Higher Logic

Link the learning activity to Higher Logic System, if applicable.

Discussion Forums

Link the learning activity to one or many restricted discussion forums.
This will mean that all learners enrolled in the activity will have access to the discussion forum and all its threads.

Ratings/Reviews

Enable or disable user ratings and reviews for this activity, and choose whether individual ratings and reviews are public or hidden. Hidden ratings and reviews are not visible to other users and are excluded from the total count, average rating, and ratings breakdown.

Weighting

Enable course assessment weighting. Choose to assign a weighted percentage to each Test in the activity OR to a Test Type. The weighted percentage will be calculated against the Passing Score Percentage to determine if the activity has been satisfied.

Interests

Assign one or more interests to this activity. Interests help provide relevant learning recommendations to students based on their profile selections.
