Real-time notifications for online activities

This article lists the real-time notifications that are available for online activities out of the box with TopClass. The descriptions of what triggers each notification is provided along with an explanation of what each variable and logic block is intended to show.

Trigger – Enrolled in Learning Activity

This is a real-time notification which is fired whenever a learner enrolls in a Learning Activity from the Catalog. If the activity requires approval, the email is sent only when the request is approved.

Variables:

  • Object Title – This is the TopClass Activity Title (or longname)
  • Code – This is the unique TopClass Identifier (or shortname) of the Activity
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Home Page Link – This is a link to the learners TopClass Learning Center
  • Recipient Login Name – This is the email recipients TopClass username
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Logic Blocks:

  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Trigger - Added to Learning Activity

This is a real-time notification which is fired whenever a Learner is added to a learning activity by someone other than themselves; i.e. they did not self-register.

Variables:

  • Object Title – This is the TopClass Activity Title (or longname)
  • Code – This is the unique TopClass Identifier (or shortname) of the Activity
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Home Page Link – This is a link to the learners TopClass Learning Center
  • Recipient Login Name – This is the email recipients TopClass username
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Logic Blocks:

  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Trigger – Removed from Learning Activity

This is a real-time notification which is fired whenever a learner is removed from a Learning Activity. This could happen by means of an administrator doing it, or the learner could cancel themselves.

Variables:

  • Object Title – This is the TopClass Activity Title (or longname)
  • Code – This is the unique TopClass Identifier (or shortname) of the Activity
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Home Page Link – This is a link to the learners TopClass Learning Center
  • Recipient Login Name – This is the email recipients TopClass username
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Logic Blocks:

  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Trigger – Approval Required for Learning Activity Enrolment

This is a real-time notification which is fired whenever a user enrolls in an Activity from the Catalog which requires approval. The notification is sent to all users who are set up on the Learning Activity Policy Rules tab as approvers.

Variables:

  • Approval Page Link – This is a link to the page in the TopClass where outstanding items for approval are listed
  • Enrollee Real Name – This is the first, middle, and last name of the learner being enrolled in the Activity
  • Object Title – This is the TopClass Activity Title (or longname)
  • Code – This is the unique TopClass Identifier (or shortname) of the Activity
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Home Page Link – This is a link to the learners TopClass Learning Center
  • Recipient Login Name – This is the email recipients TopClass username
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Logic Blocks:

  • Enrollee Real Name – This is the first, middle, and last name of the learner being enrolled in the Activity
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Trigger – Enrolled in Learning Activity Pending Approval

This is a real-time notification which is fired whenever a learner enrolls in a Learning Activity from the Catalog, which requires approval. The notification informs the learner that approval is required before they will be enrolled.

Variables:

  • Object Title – This is the TopClass Activity Title (or longname)
  • Code – This is the unique TopClass Identifier (or shortname) of the Activity
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Home Page Link – This is a link to the learners TopClass Learning Center
  • Recipient Login Name – This is the email recipients TopClass username
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Logic Blocks:

Trigger – Enrolment Request in Learning Activity Rejected

This is a real-time notification which is fired whenever a learner enrolls in a Learning Activity from the Catalog, which requires approval. The notification is sent to the learner if the approval request is rejected.

Variables:

  • Rejection Reason
  • Object Title – This is the TopClass Activity Title (or longname)
  • Code – This is the unique TopClass Identifier (or shortname) of the Activity
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Home Page Link – This is a link to the learners TopClass Learning Center
  • Recipient Login Name – This is the email recipients TopClass username
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Logic Blocks:

  • Rejection Reason
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Trigger – Manager Requested Enrolment

This is a real-time notification which is fired whenever a manager enrols a learner into a learning activity through the catalog.

Variables:

  • Enrolment Reason – This is the reason the learner’s manager has stated for enrolling the learner into the activity
  • Manager Name – This is the name of the learner’s manager who requested the enrolment
  • Object Title – This is the TopClass Activity Title (or longname)
  • Code – This is the unique TopClass Identifier (or shortname) of the Activity
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Home Page Link – This is a link to the learners TopClass Learning Center
  • Recipient Login Name – This is the email recipients TopClass username
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Logic Blocks:

  • Enrolment Reason – This is the reason the learner’s manager has stated for enrolling the learner into the activity
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Trigger – Rebuild Progress Data for Online

This is a real-time notification which is fired whenever someone rebuilds all the progress data.

Variables:

  • Rebuild Success – This is a statement of the activity name that the rebuild was successfully completed for
  • Object Title – This is the TopClass Activity Title (or longname)
  • Code – This is the unique TopClass Identifier (or shortname) of the Activity
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Home Page Link – This is a link to the learners TopClass Learning Center
  • Recipient Login Name – This is the email recipients TopClass username
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Logic Blocks:

  • Rebuild Success – This is a statement of the activity name that the rebuild was successfully completed for
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Trigger – User Assigned Goal

This is a real-time notification which is fired whenever a user gets assigned a Class goal.

Variables:

  • Object Title – This is the TopClass Activity Title (or longname)
  • Code – This is the unique TopClass Identifier (or shortname) of the Activity
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Home Page Link – This is a link to the learners TopClass Learning Center
  • Recipient Login Name – This is the email recipients TopClass username
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name

Trigger – Activity Completion

This is a real-time notification which is fired whenever a user completes an Online Learning Activity.

Variables:

  • Object Title – This is the TopClass Activity Title (or longname)
  • Code – This is the unique TopClass Identifier (or shortname) of the Activity
  • Valid Period End Date – This is the end date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Valid Period Start Date – This is the start date of the leaner’s access to the content for this Activity
  • Home Page Link – This is a link to the learners TopClass Learning Center
  • Recipient Login Name – This is the email recipients TopClass username
  • Recipient Real Name – This is the email recipients TopClass first name, middle name and last name
