Development Review Notes: 2026
NoteThe features and updates demonstrated in the reviews represent work in progress. Inclusion in an upcoming release is not guaranteed, and scope or timing may change based on prioritization and testing.
July 14, 2026 (PI 2 - Sprint 5)
Removing a price plan operation added for group joining/leaving rules
The new Remove Price Plan operation for group joining/leaving rules allows admins to remove a specific price plan from a user's account when they join or leave a group. The remove operation works as either a joining or leaving trigger, selected via a simple drop-down of existing plans.
Overriding a price plan
There is a new checkbox, Overwrite Price Plan, within the Set Price Plan operation. This enables admins to override a user's existing price plan if they have only one. If the user has zero or more than one price plan, the selected plan is simply added to their list.
The override only replaces the price plan if the user has exactly one, and otherwise adds the new plan. The override applies to the last group a user is added to, provided the user has only one price plan at the time.
Overriding peer review scores
Admins can now override the peer review score for a submission before it rolls up to complete. When a peer review submission has been evaluated by multiple instructors, admins can already override the unit to mark it complete, but a new option lets them replace the auto-calculated average score with their own value during that same override.
The popup displays the current instructor-average score for reference, which the admin can accept or change before saving. This feature is scoped to peer review activities only; note that admins must still separately override the overall activity completion for the student if needed, and standard manually-graded tests (scored via the Instructor Center) aren't affected since those submissions are already complete by the time grading occurs.
June 30, 2026 (PI 2 - Sprint 4)
Displaying the cert path title with the Certification Program title
A new system setting enables the inclusion of the certificate path title, along with the Certification Program title, on the Completed tab of the Learning Center.
Editing external training templates after submission
A new system setting allows super administrators to specify whether learners can edit their external training records after submission, if it was created using an external training template. When enabled, learners can edit the Date Completed, the Expiry Date, and add additional Attachments.
Updating external training credit records in an external vendor
A new iMIS writeback configuration has been added to allow external training credit records to be updated in iMIS when a change to the external training record in TopClass is made.
Shared media folder in file manager
A shared media folder is now available and allows administrators to store, share, and use recurring media files across their TopClass platform. Super Administrators and Administrators will have the ability to add and use all files within the shared media folder, however, deletion rights are only available to Super Administrators.
Featured Learning layout options in the catalog
Administrators can choose their preferred layout for featured learning in the Catalog. There are two options: Minimal (default) and Expanded.
Configurable Navigation Layout Patterns
TopClass is introducing the ability for super administrators to configure the location and pattern of the navigation panel. There are three layout options: Standard (default); Enhanced Standard; and Header Bar.
June 16, 2026 (PI 2 - Sprint 3)
Assigning a course contact
Previously, the contact details for a course activity defaulted to the course activity owner (user with full editing rights for the activity). It is now possible to nominate a different user (for example, an instructor or tutor) as the course contact, and their details will be displayed to learners on the course information pages. This enhancement means that the course contact and the course administrator (owner) can be separated and roles are streamlined.
Customizing Pass/ Fail messages for tests
In TopClass administrators can now create a bank (library) of customized pass/fail messages that can then be assigned to specific tests. This enhancement allows for more meaningful and context-specific feedback for learners based on their performance.
Automated JSON-LD Schema Generation
TopClass is now generating a specific JSON-LD Schema, defined by Google, that allows for the optimization of TopClass anonymous catalog offerings for rich results in search engines.
Generating course descriptions using TopClass AI Generator
The TopClass AI Generator is now available to create course descriptions based on text content associated with the activity. By expanding AI capabilities to the course description, it reduces the administrative load when creating activities.
Logging into the Higher Logic Widget using iMIS credentials
Clients using TopClass with iMIS can opt to change the Higher Logic widget login method to remove the need for learners to login with their Higher Logic credentials (login form), and automatically login based on their iMIS credentials (bounce URL). This enhancement allows for more efficient workflow for learners.
June 2, 2026 (PI 2 - Sprint 2)
Generating llms.txt files
A llms.txt file is a structured text file that provides a readable overview to AI tools, ensuring AIs access accurate information rather than pulling from outdated sources. A new system setting (GEO) has been created to allow administrators to complete fields for the llms.txt file, including About Description, Contact URL, Organization/Provider Name, and Site Tagline/Purpose.
Enrolling directly into free activities
If there is a catalog redirect in place and the offering is free, learners are now able to enroll directly into the activity from TopClass, eliminating any irrelevant redirect steps.
Syncing Merged Users via iMIS Integration
A new sync has been created to allow data for recently merged users in iMIS to sync into TopClass.
May 19, 2026 (PI 2 - Sprint 1)
Proctoring Interactive Videos - Integrity Advocate
Proctoring through Integrity Advocate (IA) has been extended to include interactive videos. When proctoring is enabled on an interactive video, learners will need to view it whilst meeting the criteria set out in IA. For example, whilst being recorded and remaining on the same browser tab.
Setting Interactive Videos Completion Time
Administrators can set a specific time within an interactive video whereby the video is considered complete. This enables the video to be marked as complete once the learner reaches the specified time, without requiring the video to be watched in its entirety.
Anonymous Grading of Tests
A new test setting allows for tests marked for manual grading to be graded anonymously. When enabled, instructors will not have access to the learners' details.
Adding a Certificate Variable inside Certificate Custom Text
Enhancements have been made to the certificate template to allow certificate variables to be inserted into the custom text field.
Allocating Values to Sub-Credits
The option to award credit subtype-specific values to an activity is now available. Administrators will have the option to continue using the current setup whereby the credit subtype(s) is indicated, or switch to allow a more distinct breakdown of credits earned by the learner.
Exploring New Catalog Themes
The UI team are exploring new themes for the catalog layout, which will allow customization and alignment with client-specific branding aesthetics.
Introducing URL Slugs for Catalog Offerings
URL slugs are an excellent method for improving SEO rankings and enhancing user experience by making links clean, memorable, and easier to share. URL links for catalog offerings and categories are automatically created based on the given Title and can be modified by administrators.
April 14, 2026 (PI 1 - Sprint 5)
New System Setting for tiny MCE Editor
Following the upgrade to TinyMCE Editor version 7, a new system setting, Strict TinyMCE Editor, has been added in line with updated security settings. For existing clients, the setting will be set to No and for new clients, the setting will be set to Yes by default.
March 31, 2026 (PI 1 - Sprint 4)
My Credits Report Enhancements
A dynamic credit total column has been added, and user identification (name) will be included on exported versions.
Flagging Questions for Review when 'One at a time' is set to No
When a test is configured to display as all questions on one page, learners can now mark specific questions For Review so they can move on and then review all flagged questions before submitting the test for grading.
Hiding question text when Reviewing All Questions
Administrators can hide the question text from learners when they are viewing the summary of questions flagged for review. Learners will be required to go to the specific question in order to view the question text.
Allow Partition Admins to Use General Partition Catalog Categories on Activities
A new system setting can be enabled to allow partition admins to use general partition catalog categories on learning activities. This will negate the need for admins to duplicate catalog categories in each partition.
Certificate & Variables Enhancements - Location, Credit, Session Start Date Variables
New variables have been added to certificate templates.
- Location - For online activities, the location will default to Online. For in-person ILTs, the location set will be displayed and for virtual ILTS, the location will default to Online.
- Credit value - The option to display the credit value only, without the credit type is now available.
- Session start date/time - For ILTs, the session start date/time can be added.
- New date format - Admins can select the date to be displayed as Month Day, Year. For example, March 31, 2026.
File manager and tinymce upgrade
TopClass has created an in-house file manager to replace Moxie Manager and upgraded the rich text editor (TinyMCE). The new file manager is much simpler to navigate through and use, creating an enhanced user experience.
March 18, 2026 (PI 1 - Sprint 3)
Separating 'Hide Test Feedback' into two separate settings; Showing Score and Showing Pass/ Fail message
The Hide Test Feedback setting has been separated into two new settings: Hide Test Score and Hide Pass/Fail Message. Administrators can choose to show either, both or none to the learner.
Changes to Test Responses Report
A new Question Title column has been added and the filter for the Test Title has been updated. Previously, if a test was linked to more than one online activity, duplicate test title records would display. Now, only one test title record will be displayed regardless of the number of linked activities.
Reviewing Product Tour creation process
The process for creating product tours is currently under review. The development team are working with AIΒ tools to determine how it can be used to assist in expediting the process and enhancing the overall product tour experience for users.
March 3, 2026 (PI 1 - Sprint 2)
Assigning multiple price plans to users
Users can be assigned multiple price plans. When a user with multiple price plans browses the Catalog, the system automatically applies the lowest-priced valid plan available to them, ensuring they can purchase the activity at the best rate or enroll at no cost. Enhancements to the Sales and Completed Transactions reports allow for the reporting on price plans.
Learning Contracts Phase 2 - Renaming the Learning Contract
To assist Contract Admins in tracking and managing their Learning Contracts, Learning Contracts can be renamed via the Learning Contract Dashboard. The name change is reflected consistently across dashboards, lists, and reports.
Granting additional privileges for Admin Users: Read Only Users
Super Administrators can grant Admin users access to additional areas of TopClass, allowing them to perform specific administrative tasks without providing full platform access. In addition to the privileges mentioned last sprint, there is now a Read Only Users access. This allows the instructor to view users in the Users list screen but prevents them from creating or editing any user profiles.
New test results options
Super Administrators have the ability to hide the full answer breakdown from users if they fail the test, e.g. if a user fails a test, only their selected answer and whether is it correct or incorrect will be displayed.
Handling large video transcriptions with AI
Following the successful beta launch of the TopClass AI Test Generator in the February release, enhancements have been made to allow for the transcription of large videos (greater than five minutes). The AI Generator will run the transcription in the background so that admin users can perform other tasks while waiting and once complete, a notification will be sent to advise that the transcription is ready for use.
Creating custom menu items
Super Administrators can add up to three custom menu items into the menu navigation panel, making it easier to direct users to specific resources.
Configuring Personify SSO integration through TopClass
The Personify integration bridge and SSO can now be configured directly in TopClass, allowing system administrators to connect the two platforms more easily than before.
February 17, 2026 (PI 1 - Sprint 1)
Storing AI usage metadata in database
For production and quality monitoring, when a call is made to an AIΒ service, the metadata is recorded and stored in the database for each call.
Granting additional privileges for Admin Users
Super Administrators can grant Admin users access to additional areas of TopClass, allowing them to perform specific administrative tasks without providing full platform access. Available privileges include the following:
- Reports menu β Allows admin users to view, create, or edit Reports and Scheduled Reports.
- Customizations menu β Allows admin users to access the customizations menu, which includes areas such as branding, landing page, and login page.
These options allow Super Administrators to delegate responsibilities while maintaining control over broader platform permissions.
Learning Contracts Phase 2
The following demonstrations are all related to the Learning Contracts Phase 2 work.
Restricting Learning Contract access
A new setting on the Learning Contract allows administrators to restrict who can access the Learning Contract. Invitation codes can be configured to allow only those who are explicitly invited to redeem the code. This will ensure that invitation codes cannot be shared outside of the users chosen by the Contract Admin.
Aligning Learning Activity valid periods with the Learning Contract valid period
Super Administrators can choose to align the valid periods of associated Learning Activities with the Learning Contract valid period.
When this option is enabled and the Learning Contract has a defined valid period, the valid periods for associated Learning Activities (Online Activities only) automatically update to match the Learning Contract valid period.
Associating a Learning Contract with a group
If the Learning Contract is linked to a group, the first time a user enrolls in any activity through the Learning Contract, they are automatically added to the group. This will allow managers to monitor the groupsβ progress in activities via the Manager Dashboard.
Using TopClass Learning Contracts with external catalog redirects
Enhancements have been made so that when an external catalog re-direct is in place, Learning Contract creation and purchasing is configurable.
Using TopClass Learning Contracts via iMIS integration
TopClass users with an iMIS integration can now create a Learning Contract directly from their iMIS shopping cart. By bulk purchasing seats in a Learning Activity, users can create and manage Learning Contracts, which provides a scalable way to distribute and manage learning access across their organization.
Configuring license code Check
The license code check is now configurable for on-premise clients.
January 13, 2026 ( PI 4 - Sprint 4)
New Report: Activity Evaluation Report
The Activity Evaluation Report is available to help administrators review completed learning activities along with post-test exam results and evaluation responses. This report returns one row per learner per evaluation question and includes activity details, learner information, completion date, post-test exam scores, and individual evaluation or post-work question responses. It also indicates whether the learner passed the activity, confirming that all required components, such as post-tests and evaluations, were completed. The report supports filtering by multiple activities, making it well suited for tracking completions across many courses.
Sales report enhanced with external ID columns
The Sales report now includes Enrolee External ID and Purchaser External ID columns. These additions make it easier to identify purchasers and enrolees across systems, support third-party integrations, and improve reconciliation for eCommerce transactions where the purchaser and participant differ.
