System Settings: Custom Strings
The Custom Strings tab allows you to update or replace default text displayed throughout TopClass.
This feature lets you tailor system labels, messages, and prompts to better fit your organization’s terminology or tone.
Editing language strings
Do the following to edit the Custom Strings:
- Go to System Administration > System Settings.
- Click the Custom Strings tab.
- Select the desired Language from the drop-down list.
NoteThe system language is selected by default.
- On the Default Values tab, scroll through the list to locate the strings you want to modify.
Each line displays a Property name (string name) and its associated Display value. - Copy the entire line (including both the string name and display value) for each string you want to customize.
- Go to the Custom tab and paste each copied line.
- Update the string value (the text to the right of the equals sign) to your preferred wording.
- Click Save on the Custom tab.
Once saved, users will immediately see the updated custom strings in the interface.
Notes
- Default strings are read-only. You must copy and edit them from the Custom tab.
- If your system supports multiple languages, repeat these steps for each language version that needs customization.
