Coupon discount types

TopClass uses two different coupon types: percentage discount coupons and monetary value coupons.

Percentage discount

A percentage discount coupon specifies a percentage that is subtracted from the price of items in the shopping cart.

  • Percentage Discount – Specify the percentage value of the coupon.
  • Number of Times to be Used – Specify the number of times the coupon can be used before becoming inactive.
  • Number of Times Used – This field displays the number of times the coupon has been used in the system.
  • Per-User Limit – Enter the maximum number of times this coupon may be used by any one qualifying user, subject to expiry and overall limits where applicable. A value of 0 means there are no individual user limits.

Monetary value

A monetary coupon provides a fixed sum which can be used to purchase items.

  • Balance – Enter the value of the coupon. When the coupon has been used and there is money remaining on the coupon, the balance is displayed here.
  • Currency – Specify the currency of the monetary value coupon.
  • Per-User Limit – Enter the maximum number of times this coupon can be used by any one qualifying user, subject to expiry and overall limits where applicable. A value of 0 means there are no individual user limits.
